Privacy Policy

ChatMarks — Bookmarks for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini & more · Effective 15 July 2026

Your bookmarks never leave your browser. Everything you pin — message text, tags, conversation titles and URLs — is stored locally via Chrome's storage API on your device (and, for your Pro license only, in Chrome's built-in sync tied to your own Google account). ChatMarks has no accounts, no analytics, no trackers, and no server-side database. We cannot see your bookmarks or your conversations.

Where ChatMarks runs: the extension's content script runs only on the chat sites it supports — chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com, claude.ai, gemini.google.com, perplexity.ai, copilot.microsoft.com, grok.com, chat.mistral.ai, chat.deepseek.com, and poe.com — plus this site's own license-activation page. It has no access to any other website.

What is sent to our server, and when:

1. License verification — if you buy Pro, the extension sends your license key (which encodes the email you used at checkout) to this server once to verify it. The key is checked mathematically and nothing is stored.
2. Feedback — if you use the optional "Send feedback" form, the message you type, the extension version, and whether you're on the free or Pro tier are forwarded to a private channel we read. Don't include personal information you don't want to share.

Payments are processed entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Stripe shares only your email address with us so your license key can be generated. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

Data retention & deletion: we retain nothing server-side, so there is nothing to delete on our end. To delete your local data, use the CLEAR button in the extension popup or uninstall the extension.

No sale or sharing: we do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties, and we do not use data for advertising or any purpose unrelated to the extension's single function.
